I Heart Nutella Pancakes
Happy World Nutella Day! Ok, depending on your time zone, the clock may not have struck midnight yet, but here in Arabia, Nutella day is in full swing.
I’ve been trying to decide what to make to celebrate this glorious day. Should I make another batch of Nutella and Banana Bread? Or should me and the kids have some fun again with BaNilla Sandwich Cookies?
Well with just over a week until Valentines day, I thought I’d dedicate the next few posts to V-Day friendly recipes, starting with these Nutella Heart Pancakes.
For someone who doesn’t love really sweet things first thing in the morning, these pancakes were perfect. They weren’t overly sweet, but the nutella was still able to shine through nicely.

Nutella Heart Pancakes Recipe
Adapted from Peanut Butter Pancakes by Rachael Ray Mag
- 1/4 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup Nutella
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- Whipped cream and strawberries to serve (optional)
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a small bowl, beat together the milk, egg, Nutella and butter until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined.
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Put batter into a squeeze bottle. Outline the shape of a heart in the hot skillet, then fill it in quickly. Cook until it begins to puff and the bottom is golden, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook until golden on the other side. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve immediately with strawberries and whipped cream.
